Improving Women’s lives through Chilli Plantation in the Dera Ghazi Khan District
ABAD believes it is essential to adopt an indigenous approach towards women empowerment- one which does not challenge the status quo, but rather understands and absorbs the indigenous dynamics, empowering and equipping women within the existing system.
Our current work focuses on women in chilli farming in South Punjab. We aim to empower women in agriculture in rural south Punjab by providing vocational training, financial and functional literacy, and improved knowledge of health and wellbeing practices in a bid to improve their lives and livelihoods. We will enhance their ability to generate their own steady streams of income by using agriculture and chilli farming as a source of financial empowerment.
